CWDC funding to train as an EYP
New EYP pathways will commence in January 2012. EYP training providers offer guidance on eligibility for funding.

Early Years Foundation Degree funding
Funded by Dorset County Council (if you work within this local authority area).
Eligibility
Eligible if you work 16 paid hours or per week in a Dorset early years setting (nursery, pre-school or childminder) and are committed to gaining EYP Status.
Funding
Course Fees
Up to £900 for 2011/12 course fees. Or funded per module for Open University (up to a total of £2,700 for entire qualification)
Study Release
£500 for 2011/12 - if working in a setting open over 20 hours a week
£250 for 2011/12 - if working in a setting open under 20 hours a week
Books
Free book loan scheme to support study (via Treats Toy Library).

Funded by Dorset County Council (if setting located within this local authority)
Eligibility
Dorset day nurseries and pre-school-playgroups. Priorty is given to private and voluntary groups and groups in the top 30% areas of deprivation in Dorset. See GLF pages of Dorset County Council's website for more guidance and application forms.

Claim the EYP Achievement Reward
If a Private or Voluntary group open over 20 hours a week: £8,000 (a minimum of £5,000 must be used to increase the EYP's salary).
If an Independent or Governor Managed group or a setting open under 20 hours a week: £4,000 (a minimum of £2,000 must be used to increase the EYP's salary).
Employ an EYP Candidate
Claim the EYP Progression Reward
If a Private or Voluntary group open over 20 hours a week: £4,000 (a minimum of £2,000 must be used to increase the EYP's salary).
If an Independent or Governor Managed group or a setting open under 20 hours a week: £2,000 (a minimum of £1,000 must be used to increase the EYP's salary).

EYPs and Candidates can access Dorset's EYP Network and high level continuous professional development opportunities.

GCSE Maths and English funding
Funded by Dorset County Council (if working in a setting within this local authority area)
Eligibility
For Level 3+ practitioners working 16 hours or more per week in a Dorset registered early years settings who do not currently meet the GCSE requirement and aspire to gain EYP Status in the future .
